Intellerati understands that the heads of corporate executive search and in-house executive recruiting teams want recruiting research pricing information when they shop for services. We believe in providing you with the pricing upfront for our candidate sourcing services.

In the recruiting industry, there are three pricing models — three ways you can buy executive recruiting support —  Contingency Search, Recruiting Research, and Retained Search

Contingency search firms charge about 20-25% of the first-year base salary. Since they don’t get paid unless they make a placement, they err on the side of quantity.

Some recruiting research firms charge by the name or by the hour. We offer our services for a simple flat fee retainer, eliminating the conflicts of interest of percentage fees.

Retained executive search firms charge retainers of 30-33% of total cash compensation plus expenses. Their retainers usually exceed $100 thousand dollars.

You don’t pay less if the search firm does less work. Our flexible pay-as-you-go retainer ensures that you only pay for the amount of recruiting research work you need: no more, no less.

We hand over all the candidate research, something traditional search firms never do. You can use it to make hires at no additional cost. We don’t claim “ownership” of candidates for placement fees. Our candidate sourcing research comes with no strings attached or additional fees. The candidate research is yours to keep.

Why We Do Not Charge by the Name

Intellerati does not charge by name. Charging by the name is also problematic. It provides a powerful financial incentive for a recruitment research firm to sacrifice quality for quantity. Our pricing speaks to the quality and value of our work. 

Why We Do Not Charge By The Hour

We do not charge by the hour because you shouldn’t have to worry that the meter is running. Charging by the hour often sets up nickel-and-dime billing and we’d rather not go there. You deserve to know what the recruiting research costs at the outset.
